This 3 month course is designed for tech enthusiast student of grade 8 and 9 which will cover basic concept of electronics, its components and advance robotics projects to make student able to create their own projects further.

It is mainly focused on school children where they can groom themselves in field of Technology and Robotics and explore themselves. We will be learning about Electronics and Robotics with Arduino(microcontroller).

With the advancement in Science and Technology, lots of simple and applicable ideas are being commercialized globally. But due to lack of proper knowledge about how to make one with practical components and implement them, those ideas stay hidden and gets wasted. This course mainly focuses to those school level students who want to groom themselves with such idea with practical components and use in real life.

Robotics is the major area of interest in today’s modern age worldwide. Robot is a machine resembling a human being and able to replicate certain human movements and functions automatically. In current pandemic situation, robots are the only alternatives that can reach to those places where human are under high risk. This course will help student to make different automated robots using microcontroller, different sensors and modules.

1. Basic Concept of Electronics and its components

Before moving forward with Robotics, it’s necessary to have basic knowledge of Electronics and it’s components. This part include basics of Electronics with necessary idea of current, voltage, charge particles and basic components that are used in almost every circuit like resistor, battery, LEDs,etc.

2. Digital Multimeter Tutorials

A digital multimeter is a test tool used to measure two or more electrical values: principally voltage (volt), current (amperes) and resistance (ohms). It is a standard diagnostic tool for technicians in the electrical/electronic industries. It is necessary for robotics and electronics project to have knowledge about multimeter and it’s working. It includes introductory part of multimeter and its use.

3. Breadboard tutorial

A breadboard is a construction base for prototyping of electronics. It is a rectangular plastic board with tiny holes in it. It let us to make basic prototype of any electronics project.

4. Soldering tutorial

Soldering is a joining process used to join different types of metals together by melting solder. Solder is a metal alloy usually made of tin and leads which is melted using a hot iron. The iron is heated to temperatures above 600 degrees Fahrenheit which then cools to create a strong electrical bond. It’s knowledge is base for prototyping of any projects. Safety measures should be followed while soldering. We will be using soldering iron, soldering rod for soldering with necessary safety measures and precautions.

5. Projects

a) Arduino Programming

Arduino is a microcontroller that we will be using throughout the course. It needs Arduino IDE(Integrated Development Environment) software in our Laptop or computer to upload programs in it. Basic C programming will be used to code for Arduino. This part includes introduction to Arduino hardware, software and coding used for it.

b) Assembling Robot kit

Robot kit includes different parts that are used to make robot car. This part includes assembling of those parts to make Robot car by student themselves.

c) Movement detector

It contains microcontroller with motion detecting sensor (PIR sensor). This project can detect motion of any living or non-living object and can be placed in home and society for security purpose.

d) Radar Project

It contains ultrasonic sensor mounted in servo motor that acts as radar to detect distance between the point to any object within its range. Ultrasonic sensor is “No contact distance measuring” sensor that is useful in robotics, automation and instrumentation.

e) DC motor project

DC motor is a machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In this project we will be learning and using DC motor for its various applications.

f) Project Using Motor Driver

The DC motor driver is a type of amplifier or power modulator that integrates between the controller and a DC motor. It takes the low current and then converts it into a high current which is appropriate for the motor.

g) Line Following Robot

Assembled Robot car previously is used as line following Robot. We will be using IR(Infrared) sensor to detect line here. Basic concept of project is to detect the black line on the surface and move along that line.

h) Voltage Regulator

Voltage regulator basically has 220 volts input and necessary voltage as output for different motors and sensor. We will be making our own voltage regulator circuits using resistor, diode, and wires in bread board.

i) 555 Timer IC

The 555 timer IC is an integral part of electronics projects. Here we will be making our own Timer IC.

j) 7-segment Display Project

The 7-segment display, also written as “seven segment display”, consists of seven LEDs (hence its name) arranged in a rectangular fashion as shown. Each of the seven LEDs is called a segment because when illuminated the segment forms part of a numerical digit (both Decimal and Hex) to be displayed. This part includes the knowledge if using 7-segemnt display for displaying numbers and letters.

k) Relay Modules project

The relay module is a separate hardware device used for remote device switching. With it you can remotely control devices over a network or the Internet. This part cover working mechanism and use of relay modules in project.

l) Bluetooth Modules

This module is used to make communication between any microcontroller and Bluetooth device. Here we will be using Bluetooth module to make communication between your mobile devices with Assembled Robot car.

m) Color Sensors

A color sensor is a type of "photoelectric sensor" which emits light from a transmitter, and then detects the light reflected back from the detection object with a receiver. This part covers use of color sensor and it’s working mechanism.

n) Flame Detector

A flame detector is a sensor designed to detect and respond to the presence of a flame or fire, allowing flame detection. This part include use of this sensor for detecting fires in kitchen, house and other places that can save life from life threatening hazards that may occur due to small flame and fire.
